Brighton 1 Troy 1

Troy is always a great contest year in and year out. I has been two years since the Bulldogs visited the Colts on there home field. This year they were to play on the new field turf. The field was redone with much afore thought and made extremely wide compared to most field turf fields being installed.

Troy hosted the#1 ranked Brighton Bulldogs Saturday afternoon. Troy scored first with 24:28 remaining in the first half. Mike Wright slid one past Kevin Tucker off of a good pass from Alex Mazzenga. Brighton recovered quickly almost one minute after the Troy goal when Adam Nesbitt launched a rocket past Troy goalkeeper, Bob Spence.Brad Murphy was injured about ten minutes into the game from a kick to head. Once blood was discovered by the opponent he was replaced where he was taken to the Troy High school training area to get something on the injury to stop the bleeding. Brad returned to the field with 10 minutes remaining in the half. Brad would later get 5 staples to close the wound on his head. In the second half Brighton had 2 excellent scoring chances, but could not capitalize on the opportunities. The game ended in a 1 to 1 tie. Brighton's overall record is now 10-0-2. Brighton remains perfect in the Kensington Valley Conference at 8-0-0. Brighton travels to Milford on Tuesday.
