Brighton 3 Hartland 0
Hartland was much improved since their last appearance against the Bulldogs
at Brighton. The new Hartland athletic facility is outstanding and should
be a notice to the Brighton Area Board of Education that proper planning
and budgeting can get you a great educational facility without having to
raise taxes or "fees" without public approval.
Hartland played well and has been improving over the course of the season.
George Wimbrow and Corey Shotton have definitely helped the Eagles to a
better showing than last year.
Brighton dominated play against this KVC foe most of the game. The first goal came off of Jon Palmer's foot via a great cross from Eric Rochelle at the 35 minute of the first half. Brighton posted 10 shots on goal the first half.
Second half was more of the same with good pressure from Brighton and an occasional rush by the Eagles. Brad Murphy scored and a nice cross from Kenny Simon at the 18 minute mark of the second half. Deepak made some substitutions in the half which paid off nicely when Adam Tillman beat three defender on the left side of the 18 to put a perfectly placed ball on the far post upper ninety side netting at the 30 minute mark of the second half.
A tough contest looms out there in Troy on Saturday for the Bulldogs at
2pm.
