A classic clash of two of the top teams in the state once again this year.

The 5th ranked Chieftains came into the Dogpound looking to avenge a very tough Double overtime District Semifinal loss last year. This is very young and very talented team to say the least.

The Bulldogs, ranked 8th, are no slouch in the talent department though. They bring an arsenal of defender, midfielders and attackers that are talented and experienced.

Kenny Simon got the Bulldogs on the board first with a header off of the brillant hussle play of Sean Campeau who prevented the Chieftains an opportunity to clear the ball deep in their own zone. Sean, after a great sliding tackle, sent a perfect cross to the 6 yard line where Kenny finished it off.

After quite a bit of back and forth play the Chieftains we able to find the back of the Bulldog net at 9:24 remaining in the first half. This was the first goal allowed by the stalwart defense so far this year.

The second half was as actioned packed as the first. Several attacks and counter attacks kept the pace of the game flowing.

At the 25:47 mark of the second half, Tim Bussholtz finished off a touch pass from Kevin Simon to put the 'Dogs ahead by a 2-1 score.

Next game is Sept. 9th at 7pm, Tuesday at Sloan Field. It is club night so show up in your uniform.

Go Dogs!!!!
